This great movie is nominated for six Golden Globes. If you are used to watching free movies online don’t miss this one. “The Fighter” tells the story of Irish Mickey Ward, his rise to the ring, the fall and the great return to the conquest of the welterweight title in 2000. Mark Wahlberg (who also produced the film) portrays Ward, at his side Christian Bale as his half-brother Dicky Eklund addicted to drugs but ready to cleanse and help to train him up to the title.

The movie wowed the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, gaining six nominations for Golden Globe and now the U.S. criticism raised his thumb. All critics, however, have found themselves in agreement on the performance of the actors: “The acting is very natural and touching” writes Roger Moore.

The movie directed by David O. Russell has reached 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. The guru Roger Ebert, however, gave the film only two and a half stars out of four, claiming that lack of passion: “The fight scenes are not as visceral as the ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Rocky’ or ‘The Wrestler’, but are created specifically for sports journalists or fans.”

The term greenhouse effect is now a world wide known phenomenon that has become a real and imminent threat to not only our way of life, but to our existence. Focus has been dutifully put into the quality of the air we breathe and the effect of pollutants to The Ozone layer. But is it too late? We have spent hundreds of years polluting our air with fossil fuel combustion and destructive industry, treating our world like it did not feel the effect of what we called progress. So stop adding to the problem, we now are aware of how we have severely damaged the careful balance of our earth, so be more sympathetic. You want to leave your kids a world they can enjoy without the threat of skin cancer just by walking under the sun. Do right by them and be conscious of your aerosol sprays and noxious vehicle emissions.
